# This is just one of many EGA-optimized MAP files sent to us
# by K.A. Eastwood of Townsville, Queensland. His secret to
# generating good-looking EGA MAP files:
# 1) Fractint treats the EGA adapter as if it is a sort of
# "brain damaged" VGA adapter with only two bits of depth in
# its RGB palettes. So, act accordingly, and pick four
# palette values that will map into the four possible values
# of the EGA's RGB values. The numbers 0, 84, 168, and 252
# do nicely.
# 2) Generate 16 palettes using the above numbers for R, G, and
# B values and fill up the first 16 lines of a MAP file.
# 3) to get Fractint's color-cycling to work correctly (and
# to get these maps to display correctly on VGA equipment),
# copy those 16 palettes another 15 times to get a full 256
# line palette MAP.
